Upgrading to Hawkeye Loft Management System 2006

 

!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!

 

Hawkeye 2006 will only upgrade from v4.1.2

 

If you are not currently using Hawkeye Loft Management System v4.1.2, please update to this version first before you continue.

Download the Hawkeye version 4.1.2 from our website.  Visit http://www.comproware.com/ and click on the Downloads link on the left under the Hawkeye Loft Management System Menu.   Download “Hawkeye Loft Management System version 4.1.2 (EXE)”.  We strongly recommend that you also read the upgrading instructions for this version 4.1.2 before continuing.  Just click on the “Click here for the upgrade instructions ” link in the download description.

 

Upgrading Hawkeye V4.1.2 TO Hawkeye 2006 

 

 

Before attempting to install Hawkeye 2006, read the following instructions carefully:

 

  1. Make a Backup of your existing data.  Comproware cannot accept responsibility for any data loss.  This is accomplished by running the Backup Utility that came with your Hawkeye system.  Click on the Windows “Start” button then “Programs”, “Hawkeye” and finally “Hawkeye Backup”.   Just click on the “Start Backup” button to start the backup process.  This will present you with a File Open Dialog.  If you are happy with the location of where the backup file will be saved, click OK; else browse to your preferred location.
  2. Once the Backup has been completed, run the Repair Corrupt Tables Utility that we have provided with the Hawkeye Loft Management System.  Click on the Windows “Start” button then “Programs”, “Hawkeye” and finally on “Repair Corrupt Tables”.  Click on the “Repair Tables” button to start the process.  You will receive a lot of messages, just click on OK until the process is complete.

 

Installing the Update

 

  1. Download the Hawkeye Loft Management System 2006 setup file from our website.  Visit http://www.comproware.com/ and Click on the Downloads link on the left under the Hawkeye Loft Management System Menu. 
  2. Once downloaded, just run the program (hawk_2006.exe) by double clicking on it or by clicking on the Open button once the download completes..  By default the update will be installed to C:\Program Files\Comproware\Hawkeye.  If Hawkeye is installed in a different location on your system, you my change this path to reflect the actual Hawkeye path on your system.  If you don’t install to the same location, your data will not be upgraded.
  3. Towards the end of the installation, you must check the check box "Import Date from Hawkeye v4.1.2" to tell setup that it should upgrade your existing data.
  4. Ensure that Hawkeye v4.1.2 is not running.  This is very important since some database might be locked which will lead to failure.
  5. Continue with the installation, following the instructions and read everything that’s displayed, it contains some important information.
  6. If you receive an error stating that an instance of Hawkeye v4 data already exists, click on the Yes button to allow the upgrade system to remove the Data4 folder.  Only click on Yes if you wish to import data from an older system.   Once the installation is completed, run Hawkeye 2006 and confirmed that your data is intact.
