Solve errors or strange behaviour in Hawkeye v8
Sometimes Hawkeye behaves strangely and one may notice some of the following:
- Some birds are missing on reports or lists
- Hawkeye reports errors on occasion
- Some weird things happen
- Any other strange behaviour.
In these cases, you may try the following steps:
- Ensure you have the latest version of Hawkeye installed
- Click on the menu item Data, then Data Integrity Check
- Select the option to optimise the data on exit - at this point, exit the program so that the data can be optimised and return to this section
- Select the first test from the drop-down list then click on Analyze
- If you see any errors, print the report, then select the next test and click Analyze
- Do this for all the items in the drop-down list and if any errors are presented, print the report
- Now find the problems in the system and fix them. Just call up the bird in the first column, and fix the error, i.e. ensure a Color, Strain, Status is selected. If you do not know what to set it to, select Unknown. Also do the same for any gender, or Dam, Sire problems, if any.
